Mike,
My wife and I just got home yesterday from Colorado with our new (new to us anyway) '66 Aztec Bronze SS396. The car was exactly as you described it on your web site. There were no suprises when we saw it in person. So many times, these old cars are not what they are represented to be. To say I am pleased with our purchase would be an understatement. Buying a car without seeing it in person first can be very stressful. However, knowing your reputation and the knowledge you have regarding '66 and '67 SS Chevelles; when you said the car was the "real deal", true matching number car and not a re-stamp, gave me the confidence to make a solid offer on the car sight-unseen!
I would not hesitate to purchase another car off your site knowing I would be getting exactly what is advertised and that the price has been arrived at after careful analysis and research.
I want to thank you for your patience, honesty, integrity and candor with both seller and buyer when describing and setting a price on the cars that make it to your web site.
Thanks!
Lee (OK)

Hello Mike,
I just wanted to say thanks again for being the "catalyst" in the purchase
of my 1966 Chevelle SS.  As you know, I had been looking pretty hard since May of this year, "lurking" on all the Chevelle Blog sites, scouring all the advertisments, trying to decide which way to go.
When I contacted you initially, I did not have an idea how or if you would
respond. After our 45 plus minute conversation, however, I can say that I got the answers I needed to help me move forward and commit to making a purchase just hours later.
Your honesty and passion for these truly wonderful muscle cars is inspiring.  I hope to be able to get to that level one day, and I know from looking at your website and talking to you it's done one bolt at a time.
Best,
Erik P (TX)

Hi Mike,
I just wanted to send an e-mail to say Thank You for helping my friend Bill. He is in a tight spot now with the economy not improving and uncertainty with his job. When he called me, he asked my opinion and I thought of you right away.
I read about your Danube Blue 66 again and it is really a fantastic story. Your car is absolutely beautiful and I love the color. There are a lot of self proclaimed experts in this hobby, but I hold you in very high regard. You have a passion for the 66 Chevelle Super Sports and you have obviously dedicated a big portion of your free time to researching, learning and sharing your knowledge with others in the hobby. You care a lot about these cars and it shows. We need more Mike Crowns in the hobby. Again,, Thank You again for helping my friend Bill with evaluation of his 66 SS. I really appreciate it and I know he did as well!
Best Regards,
Tory ( NY)

Hey Mike,
Thanks again for all your help in getting me my Mountain Green 67 SS.
Your vast knowledge and formost, your integrity, made my purchase
a lot less stressfull.  Also, your help getting the car delivered was priceless..
Hope to buy another one some day and I'm sure you will be helping make it happen...
Thanks

Mike, thank you so much for your help in selling my car.  With this bad economy, it is a daunting task to sell a high dollar vehicle.  It was because of your reputation that I was able to sell my Maderia Maroon 67 SS convertible as quickly and as well as I did.  The purchaser said that he never spends a lot of money without first going to see a car in person, but in this case he didn't come to see it because  of  your HONESTY when describing this particular car.  I will be sure to contact you when the time comes to sell my other Chevelles.  Thank you again.
Butch  (NJ)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I contacted Mike to handle the sale of my '69 Baldwin Motion PhaseIII L78
because I knew of his affection for 66/67 Chevelles and had a reputation for
getting quality cars good homes...  I was really pleased to find out from the very beginning that dealing with Mike was like dealing with an old buddy who would watch out for your back and take the time to bounce ideas off you to help sell the car to the right person...  Mike went beyond just helping me sell the car... he also along with his brother gave me a hand getting the car ready for sale, since I was just tied up with business at the time.... In the end I made a cool friend, who has the coolest '66 SS396 around..........The only downside is I'll probably have to buy Mike Brooklyn bagels for life.... Thanks Doc....

Mike,
Thank you for the invaluable service you do for the 66/67 Chevelle World.  Your knowledge and care for the sale of the best cars makes you stand out above the rest.  It was a pleasure to work with you on the sale of the 66 I bought. The time you took out to answer all my questions. And give me more information on the 66 Chevelle  than I ever knew was priceless.  Keep up the excellent work and add one more "VERY HAPPY BUYER" to your Chevelle family!
Thank's So Much,
Scott & Patty (MN)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mike, just sending you a few pictures of the new 66! It just arrived and it's nicer than it was represented as. Thanks again for finding me another., you know a Red 66 is just my style!   Sad when a Chevelle arrives so clean and you have nothing to do to them, Just add an air freshener and drive.  (Pricessless)

I began my journey for my dream car like most, get on the internet and research. I had found a car that looked promising.  I posted photos of the car on a Chevelle forum and was given quite a bit of good advice from Mike and other forum members that this was likely not what it was advertised as. There are many clones out there being sold as true SS cars and the forum members helped smoke out this imposter. It was then that I received an email from one of Mike’s former clients who told me about how he might be able to help me. I contacted Mike and so it began. It’s not often that you're buying a car cross country without ever hearing it or driving it, yet under Mike’s consultation and guidance that’s just what I did.  All the stress I had experienced while going it on my own was completely dissipated.  I really felt like Mike had my back.  He found me a 67 and had an acquaintance who lived in the area of the private seller.  This friend went out and saw the car, took pictures and drove it, all reporting back to me. This was the one! I want to thank Mike for making this such an easy and pleasurable experience.

Mike,
I wanted to take a minute to tell you just how much I appreciate your assistance with the purchase of my new 66SS.  Buying a car long distance and sight-unseen is always a bit unsettling.  Through your long list of contacts and friends you were able to send a knowledgeable Chevelle person local to the car to inspect it and report his findings, as well as photos, back to you.  Although I had no reason to doubt the drive train as being original as the seller was representing it to be, you can never be too careful.  Your expertise and knowledge in verifying the numbers as original and correct is Priceless!  Not only that, but even after I told you what I was willing to pay for the car you negotiated with the seller in my favor saving me thousands over what I was prepared to pay.  You really went to work for me!  I can not imagine ever buying another 66 or 67 SS without you.  This is not the first Chevelle you have helped me with, and it won't be the last!  Thank you!
Jacquie (OK)

Mike,
I would like to thank you for finding a buyer so quickly for my Chevelle. From the time I decided to sell the car and contact you…to the time it actually sold was less than 24 hours! That has to be a record of sorts..even for you!
The whole process was almost effortless and almost stress free. You are known as the “go to” guy when it comes to 1966 and 1967 Chevelles, with a large network of people that are actively searching for the Chevelle of their dreams….or looking for a buyer for their cherished ride.  They can’t go wrong using you to aid them in their search or their sale…as your knowledge is phenomenal.
I also appreciate all of the advice and recommendations that you gave me during the process…as selling cars is not something I do every day. I hope that the new owner of my Chevelle gets as much driving enjoyment out of it as I did. I value your friendship…and all the advice you gave to me over the years was appreciated as well.

Hi Mike,
Just dropping you a note to say thank you for helping me find a buyer for our Chevelle.  We here at L.I.P. Collision have proven over the years  that we can build, restore, repair, and maintain award winning vehicles. I have also learned that doing the work on the cars is only part of the equation.  Having an outlet for the sale of such vehicles is equally important. I felt that the Chevelle we completed would stand on its own merits, that one look would sell the car. Well, it takes more than that. Just as in home sales, you need someone to weed thru prospects and find the QUALIFIED buyers. The same is true for cars. That takes proper presentation by someone who has the credentials.  Mike, that is clearly you.  Within a few hours of listing the Chevelle on your site you were receiving  inquires about the car.  After a few days serious offers came in.  One the offers as you know, I accepted. Your work made the sale painless (except a bit of sorrow seeing the car leave!).  I  made a new friend in you and I look forward to working with you in the future.
Thanks,
Mark M  (PA)

Dear Mike,
It seems in the classic car hobby that how successful you are depends on how long you are in the sport and how hard you work at it.  The longer you are around the more opportunity you have to find knowledgeable people that can help you enjoy the sport and the experience of owning a classic car.  Such has been my experience with you and the Mystery Chevelle web site.  I was able to connect with a number of people, suppliers, vendors, and other Chevelle enthusiasts through you and it saved me a ton of time searching the internet, and I met some great people.  I also became much more knowledgeable about 66 and 67 Chevelles through you, your web site and the Fact CD.  When I made the decision to sell my 67 Chevelle SS convertible, the choice was easy.  We both know there are a multitude of options for listing and selling a classic car across the country.  I did not have time to field calls, send pictures, and explain and document the fine points of the car.  I also did not want to get into a bidding war with sales people that wanted to list the car for far above market value just to get it on their site so it could set there for months.  I appreciated the methodical approach you took in getting to know the car inside and out, and in being careful to represent the car honestly and correctly.  We agreed on an asking price that was realistic and after about 30 days of discussion decided to place the car on your site.  You did a great job of describing the car, choosing the right pictures, and in talking to the people that inquired about it.  As we both know the car sold in two days.  I would not hesitate to purchase a car off your site knowing I would be getting exactly what is advertised and that the price has been arrived at after careful consideration and research.  I felt privileged to have you represent my car as I know you only work with a few cars at a time and that you are very particular about what you place on your site.  Thanks for everything and feel free to use me as a reference for both buyers and sellers in the future.  I am sure there is another Chevelle in my future and it will likely come from www.mysterychevelle.com.
Sincerely,
Gary D  (MI)

Hi Mike,
Sorry for not letting you know how it all went with the Aztec Bronze 66 SS Chevelle you helped me with .The car looks fantastic ,drives beautifully and every thing works. When buying a car all the way from Australia without seeing the car, can be very stressful especially when looking for a real deal SS.With your knowledge and help made the buying more reassuring that I was getting what I wanted.
Thanks Again
Regards
Mark (Australia)

Mike,
Thanks so much for all of your help and advice with the recent sale of my 1966 Chevelle SS.   Although, I consider myself a bit of an officiando after having done several restorations, your help and advice was still INVALUABLE.  I particularly appreciated you running interference on screening calls from potential buyers as that saved me a great deal of time and frustration. I was amazed at how quickly you were able to match up a buyer with my car, and you were super at facilitating that entire process.  I know the buyer felt the same way.  I'm a bit sad I won't be talking with you regularly now that my baby is gone, but who knows, maybe I'll get the 'itch' again some day!
Stan H (WA)

Mike:
I really appreciate all your help in representing my 66 SS on your site! I am confident that it went to a good home and it was hassle free, as you said it would be. Thanks for proving to me and everyone else that the good ones still bring the money!
James L (MS)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mike,
Now that I have owned my ’66 Chevelle for a couple of weeks, I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate the time and effort you put into working with me. It is not my first old car, but it is my first Chevelle. You played a key role in teaching me about these cars and helping me get a quality car without flying all over the nation just to be repeatedly disappointed by empty promises.

Your knowledge of these things is phenomenal. That level of experience does not happen over night; it comes with lots of hard work, sweat, and I suspect a few skinned knuckles. Thanks for sharing your experience with me. Moreover, thank you for guiding me to a quality Chevelle for my family.
Reese  (CA)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mike ,
You are on top of your game with everything from honesty to knowledge and I really like what you have done with technology to help people find the right car. When I think of all the money I wasted sending people to look at cars for me or going myself just to be disappointed.. sad! Having a guy like you in my corner was what I needed years ago...in fact it would have saved someone like me probably 10 grand and wasted time. Thank you for all you do to help people. You are a credit to the hobby. I do not throw those words around lightly!
Dave L (AZ)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mike, as you are aware I recently sold my LS 6 at the Mecum Spring Auction.  This is the car that you turned me onto that was owned by Dave in TN.  Your description of the car  was dead on and your testimonial as to Dave's character was very accurate.  All and all everything you said was correct. In this day and age, in our hobby, it is refreshing to find individuals like yourself and Dave that say what they mean and mean what they say...
If not for you I would have never found and bought the car.
Best regards,
Don (GA)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks Mike. I will keep your opinion in confidence., and I'll keep looking lol. =) Nice to know that you have as many contacts as you do, you saved me yet again!  "Long distance" expert opinion...PRICELESS!
Thanks,
Joe ( NH )

Mike:
Got the car today and all I can say is it is better than it was represented to be. Mark was great to work with, the transport company was a half a day ahead of schedule and I could not have asked for more. I owe you a great deal of thanks for finding this car and getting me the necessary information to make it happen. I will get you pictures over the weekend. It has been my pleasure to deal with such an honest and honorable person as yourself.

Hello Mike, I have seen your name a lot and even met you once at Maple Grove for the Super Chevy event a couple of years ago.. I absolutely LOVE the car you are now offering.  It is gorgeous and I'm sure done Right!!  The price seems like a near STEAL for all that is done.  I believe you are the foremost authority on '66 Chevelle SS's, and I have a question for you. Thanks,
Steve (PA)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

About 3 years ago I started looking for a 66 Chevelle.  Being an old gear head from the 60's and 70's, I had my heart set on a red on red SS396.  My wife and I made several trips down south to view these framed off and framed on beauties only to be disappointed by what some people call No. 1 and No. 2 cars.  Not to mention the cost of round trip plane fares.  A friend of mine from New York suggested that I contact "MYSTERYCHEVELLE".  I emailed "Mystery Chevelle" and the rest is history.  Mike Crown helped find the Right car for me.  Through his numerous contacts throughout the country, when I found a car I was interested in Mike would call one of his contacts and in some cases his friends looked at the car and gave me a heads up on its condition, saving me the air fare if the car was misrepresented.

I appreciate all Mike's help as well as his extensive knowledge of Chevelles and want to thank him for all he has done for me.
Pete (Boston, MA)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mike,
We made it home with "Sandy" - whew that was a long haul.  I wanted to let you know that we are VERY happy.  This is an extremely nice car, EVERYTHING YOU SAID and more...Engine compartment, interior, undercarriage...all are very impressive!

Anyway, just wanted to let you know the 66 is here and say thank you again for helping us aquire this outstanding Chevelle!   With your help the purchase was fast and easy with no surprises.  We have been invited to take a car to the Concours de Elegance at the Governors Mansion Sept 23 and this is the one we'll be taking ;).
All the Best,
Jacquie  (OK)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mike thanks a lot for arranging viewing both cars.  Having someone's eyes reinsures me so much when you can't see them yourself.  As Peter says, you
are the god of TEAM CHEVELLE and to the world of the Supersport.  Now
don't start crying when reading that,  Ha Ha.  If you are ever in New England please look us up.
Am looking forward to seeing the car and will update you when it arrives. Tell Bruce thanks very much.
Regards,
 John (NH)

Mike, ,just got off the phone with Tom.  He gave me very detailed information about the car.  I feel this is the one we have been looking for.  I wanted to thank you again for what you have done and will get back to you with your advice on how to get the car to me. Tom seems like a great person, one I feel comfortable to deal with.  I will keep in touch and follow up with you after I get the car.  Again I thank you.
